It was a fine day when I sleepily entered the college gate, thinking about same bizarre routine, and cursing the time I decided to choose medical profession, when something colorful caught my sight. It took me a few seconds to open
my drooping eyes and recognizing that SIMS sports logo glimmering  in the center of vibrant fabrics hanging all the way from second floor terris. It literally woke me up and I realized that medical school isn't boring altogether, specially when springs are about to come. So finally, after a hectic week of house exams and final stages, etc. it’s time for a spring break that undoubtedly implies beginning of college events. Yes, exciting sports, thundering debates, epic dramas, melodious songs and brainy quizzes, all are coming our way to give us some sunshine and rain. And the first & foremost part undertaken by the respective societies is to brighten up our campus by decorating it with handmade props and charts. How they adorn a space can say a lot about them and their group. It’s a chance not only for their decor teams to show their creativity and artistic talents but also to sponsor the general idea behind each society. And I must say, this embellishment is what ignites the excitement in even the nerdiest simsonian!
The SIMS logo isn't all we get from sports décor team. The representation of each class as a house from the infamous GAME OF THRONES series (I think I’m the only who still has to see that show :P ), is yet to mention - The Baratheons of 1st year, the Arryns of 2nd year, the Lannistors of 3rd year, the Starks of 4th year, and lastly, the Targaryens of 5th year, all reflect the due honor and terror. Undeniably, this is the most unexpected yet thrilling theme one can come up for a sports event. Not to mention those innovative characters, depicting each game, plastered on the walls. All in all, décor committee has done the best job in my honest opinion.

Then we have Zephyr- the arts, photography and singing society. As the name itself implies, one of their main themes is to promote arts. Definitely one would expect them to be good at it. And their work does show an imaginative mind; finally going from a 2D chart camera to a 3D ‘canon’ camera model. :P And there are 3D drums as well. :D
I’m personally thankful to this society, for sometime though, they do make me feel lucky enough to be student of some fine arts college.
The Dramatics society- I personally really liked their work this year. Especially the use of red charts to create an impression of an opened curtain on a black screened stage. Those guys know how to use good color combinations. ;)
The wise owl of SQS and a Rubik’s cube! Sometimes being simple is the best way to do it.
And I think I also saw many minions floating on the walls around the stairs and in cafeteria. Because everybody loves MINIONS! :D
All in all, the décor teams of all the societies have done a wonderful job. It may not seem that much to us since we are on the receiving side, but the people responsible for creating such fabulous pieces of design put a lot of their time and work into making those. They successfully advocate that doctors are creative too and we must all be grateful to them for providing us with an exquisite sight. :) I must say, they do create the essence of spring and give colors to the campus walls.

Now, I think we all know what comes next-the moment we have all been waiting for; a time away from those boring studies and be free, a time to let go of the worries, a time to enjoy. Spring couldn't get any better than this.
LET THE SHOW BEGIN! :D
