Biology and Psychology have always gone hammer and tongs on the composition of this two legged social animal that has ever since day one, done wonders and at the same time did many bloopers too. Biologists claim that man is a formation of some flesh, a few bones, muscles and bit of blood, whereas the psychologists term man a fine blend of these biological attributes along with some unseen characteristics; anger, determination, fear, hatred, affection, suspense, jealousy, adventure, aggression and so on. Both schools of thought are as true as 6 and 9 for two people looking at it from their own points of view.  Broadly speaking, man is not just a piece of flesh. He is known for his unseen features which describe his character and terms him good or bad likewise, unlike the animals that are looked upon for their physical strength like the lions, tigers etc and some for various qualities like dogs for smelling, eagles for their sharp vision and so on. Man is basically known for his hidden traits, in other words his character. Apart from all features, the most distinct one is struggle; to strive for something.
Man, in the race of life, goes through a series of actions.  Some of them prove good for him and a few of them make him repent, at times even for ever. Such activities make him sit around and ponder over the mistakes which sometimes can even go adverse. To some, mistakes are the ones which obstruct man’s progress, where as some wise men take mistakes as a blessing in disguise as according to them, mistakes give man the right direction and path to follow. A series of mistakes is called experience, which is the pre-requisite for any sort of job around the globe. Marriage is the only “Job” which does not require any such know-how and experience. Repetition of mistakes leads man to perfection. But it surely does not mean to incur mistakes deliberately for excellence. We can even learn from the bitter experiences of many around us.
The most appreciable aspect of man is that after committing any fault, instead of painting it with lies and false statements, he should come clean for even better performance in future. This feature has lead many legends to be so. Had Federer not learnt from his wrong shots in his initials defeats, he would have never made it to the grand slams and many such more tittles. Same was the case with Imran Khan and some leaders too who did even better after committing some gaffes at the initial stages of their career. Unless any product is not tested for its short comings, it’s not launched. But despite a series of tests while in its final phase of production, many products have customer complaints which in other words are the company’s ‘mistakes’.  Those mistakes are then taken into consideration and all the short comings are removed. This is how multi nationals deal with their ‘mistakes’. In other words, had there been no mistakes, such best sellers would have never gone well.  In short, like the products mistakes make a man “a true man.”

I confess that I have been reading a lot of confessions lately, and not just those from my Alma mater i.e. SIMS. Like most of my readers I too have KC, LC and FJMC confessions opened right now in a tab near this one. Confessions on these pages are aplenty and vary from, 'every night i see you' to 'i never want to see you again'. A gentle stroll across these pages and you can find everything. Everything part money and the missing persons obviously, no one can find them.

It is like reading someone' diary and enjoying their intimate and personal experiences whilst having no knowledge of the person or persons involved. But that is not always the case; most confessions would hide the first person but make no secret of the second person. No fear of repercussion means no fear at all. Go big or go home.

Going with the flow of our generation, most confessions are romantic. Can't help but imagine the late great Nazia Hassan singing 'Internet Pyar, and uncle Qaedo disconnecting Heer's WI-FI once and forever to solve the little mess she found herself in. Bit of a thought is, if confessions aren't supposed to give anything away, why confess a romantic interest? And if a hint gives it away, confess face to face.

The confession page admin' must be in for treats, a few naive people leaving just too much of their info in the hands of someone they do not know and certainly cannot trust. Then again the admin' do confess that complete anonymity is and will be maintained. Is it? We'd never know.

During these few days I've read a few champion confessions as well, 'I confess I am fat' was one of them, the weight machine always testifies for that one. This confession affecting self-esteem, is again conveniently done in anonymity.

In the end I have a few confessions of my own to make.

Mr. XYZ or GMA says,
I confess I've made a few confessions myself, some true. I confess a lot more people read these confession pages than the 'LIKES' of these pages. I confess this wave of confessions will die its eventual death. I confess the fun is good till it lasts.

That monkey with the match-stick ended up burning itself.

GM and SM :P
SimSpeaks team intends to set trends by coming up with some crazy ideas and this thought was one of them. We planned to have a brief interview with Quiz society presidents and here it is, featuring our talented speaker and RJ Gauhar Mehmood Azeem, who was president of SQS last year and the current president Safwan Muhammad, both from final year of course. Interviewing them was an amazing experience and SimSpeaks team thanks them for the courtesy they have shown. Lets begin it with a brief introduction of Sims Quiz Society (SQS).
SIMS Quiz Society (SQS) is considered coolest society of SIMS and it is known for setting new trends. Every year inter-class quiz competition is held but last year, under the supervision of Gauhar Mehmood, SQS has arranged SIMS ALL Pakistan Quiz Competition 2012, which has now become first SIMS Olympiad ever held. This year, it will be held in May. Okay, finally, let's come to the questioning session.

(Just to add, Gauhar Mehmood=GM and Safwan Muhammad=SM. We hope both of them forgive us for this :P )

Q1. Brief Story before SIMS.
GM: Well, we both were in GCU, just practical fellows but weren't so friendly. My schooling was at Garrison Academy.
SM: Yeah, we became good friends after coming here and my schooling was at The Trust.

Q2. Any lethal Ragging Experience?
SM: Ahh, Seniors used to take us at IPH and then all kind of thumkaas and I literally proposed 7 seniors!
(LEVEL HAI @.@)
GM: I was already known by some seniors through orkut. They just came for me and then from the male counterpart of Nargis to Rowdy Boy, all kind of thumkaas and dances, sab kiya tha :D

By the way, I am voraciously in favor of medium level wali ragging. Jo larkiyon k samnay ho :P Hostel wali NOOO! :P (FISTULAS CAN UNDERSTAND YOUR FEELINGS :P )

Q3. Any Prolonged Crush in SIMS ?
GM: This question is going to trouble me actually :p usually my crush never crossed 3 and a half days.
SM: Yeah, mine too. 3 days is the limit, but lets skip it ;)
(EXPECTED ANSWERS :P)

Q4. Any Hidden fear?
GM: Getting fat and losing my limb in an accident. :-o
SM: Nah, Not really…not now…
GM: Bta dey! :D He fears that she might refuse him :D
SM: Ahh, that’s not a fear… that’s a possibility :p
(Ooo *WHISTLES*)

Our Dear Presidents :p

Q5. Why presidency of SQS only?
GM: Well, in the first two years we had no chance in the society because final year used to rule at that time. We joined it in 3rd year.
Actually, GCU called me for Medicam All Pakistan Quiz Hosting. I did well, got confidence, became famous. So, it was like First Love wala scene. I wanted to continue it and that’s why I remained associated to SQS.
SM: In 4th year I left everything else because I was in Q-Bank and wanted to do justice with that. Also, we had attachment with Abdul Majeed Bhai and we had arranged Medicam All Pakistan Quiz in collaboration with GCU so that’s why…

Q6. Have you ever done leg-pulling for grabbing presidency?
(Laughter)
GM: Okay, That’s an accumulative story. In 4th year we thought we need to do something for presidency and we actually did everything to chuck ex-final year out :D
SM:  But it was for the Greater Good :D
GM: Yeah it was, for something we deserved. We wanted to arrange All Pakistan Quiz under the flag of SIMS for two years, so it was necessary.
(THIS SHOULD BE ON SIMS CONFESSION PAGE ACTUALLY :P )

Inter-class Quiz Competition 2013
Q7. UHS Topper or SQS President ?

(After thinking hard)
GM: ummm, my father would love to have a topper in the house :p but for me, presidency with good marks i.e 65-70 %
SM:…Presidency but with a supply free result, because this is balanced personality.

Q8. One person you want to chuck out of the society?
GM: Why would we take names, Confession ki trha bta detay hain, A tall, dark, handsome guy etc. (Laughs)
(After thinking hard) No one actually.
SM: Yeah, SQS is like a family…For the last 2 years atleast.

Q9. Question to Safwan Muhammed: You are known as the sweetest president, any society has got, How do you manage such sweetness?
GM: He exercises daily in the morning :D
SM: Hah, I am gonna cherish this comment actually! :D Umm, I think being a leader ,if you want to take the best out of the members, you got to be like this.

Q10. One person who has potential of being next president of SQS?
Both: Namra Nadeem

GM: She has got killer instinct. In first year, I thought she will be the next Gauhar, but now i think she will be the next her.

Q11. Sweetest member of SQS?
Ali Nawaz and Kaleem. Both are really sweet guys.

Q12. To Gauhar Mahmood: SQS, SDLS or Dramatics?
GM: Internal Events:- SQS
        External Events:- SDLS
Dramatics:- …I bring badluck to my class in Dramatics. If I am acting in the Drama , it flops badly. Even if I am the Spot-boy, the curse continues. I wish I could have done/acted better.

Q13. Any improvement you want to see in SQS?
GM (after thinking hard again :P ) : Nothing Actually. We have done a lot to make it interesting. Converting it into a game show from that boring traditional quiz, was the biggest improvement. Now, many colleges are copying us and it feels amazing.
SM: I want SQS to remain innovative. I mean if, after five years or so, I’m sitting in the audience an ex-president, I want to see something new.

Q14. Approximate Expenditure of an SQS event? And how these funds are arranged?
SM: All Pakistan - More than Rs.100,000
        In inter-class event - Rs.20,000
GM: We take funds for inter-class from college, but for All Pakistan, we tend to arrange sponsors. I mean why we would take more than one lac from sarkari paisa. so we arrange itself and i think its part of our duty.
(BRILLIANT!!)

Q15. Best year in SIMS?
Ans: First year and Final year. Actually, In both these years you feel like a doctor :p

Q16. Faisal Masood or Hamid Mahmood Butt?
Both: Faisal Masood All The Way!
GM: I feel sorry for the first year that you people haven’t met him. We used to come out of his office and say love ho gaya hai yar :p
SM: Yes! But Hamid Butt is very good Masha-Allah. He is trying his best to manage and he ain’t copying or competing. He has his own way of doing things.

Q17. Finally, Anything About SimSpeaks?
SM: Its good to see new comers setting trends. We have put so much effort to make SIMS better and its our hope k juniors b aise hi aen.  The Blog is a very good step.
GM: At first I thought this blog would be like magazine which takes 2 years to get published but I have observed it for the last few days. People are eager to contribute. I think its much better than those confession pages and its positive. People can learn and argue and It will be replacement for magazine.
SM: Your juniors will be thankful to you. They will know SIMS already. I mean when I came in 1st year, I was depressed k GCU se kahan aa gaya. But It wont be case now J
(WE LOVED THIS PART ^_^)

With this, we thanked both of them and took leave. We have tried our best to jot down everything and hope that you guys enjoy this short question, answers session. Do give us your feedback :)

Okay, Simsonians this is time to sing *Stand up for champions  Stand up for champions* :D SIMS debating and literary society (SDLS) has once again made us proud by winning CMH Parliamentary debates finals trophy in an event organised under the flag of CMH Debating Society (CDS).  It was a two days event, consisted on three different rounds i.e prelims, semifinals and finals. Sixteen teams participated in CMH Parliamentary Style Debating Championship 2013 and Simsonians grabbed the trophy by beating them all.
Shaherbano Salman, Fatima Iftikhar, Azib Shahid, Daniyal Sami, Waleed Raza and Usama Saeed represented SIMS under supervision of Hafiz Muhammad Wasif, the president of SDLS.
Moreover, Fatima Iftikhar was declared as 2nd best speaker of the tournament out of 48 candidates and this is something simsonians should be really proud of. ''So we thought we'd go there, speak the two prelims, come back home at 2 on Monday, study for our sub-stage and appear in it the next day. Because honestly, we never thought we'd make it so far.
Even though it was really hectic (getting free at 9 at night on Monday and reporting again at 8 the next morning) and the topics did annoy the bajesus out of us, we made it to the finals by defeating some of the best teams in the circuit. And then won the finals too and almost got the best speaker too.
SIMS Team! <3
Also, we have to appear for our substage in the supply now but I'd say it was totally worth it. So thank you team SIMS (Sherry, Daniyal bhai, Usama bhai, Waleed and Azib) for making this happen! And thank you Wasif bhai and Talha bhai for the moral support.'' says Fatima Iftikhar, our talented speaker.
SimSpeaks team congratulates all the candidates and specially the chaperone Hafiz Muhammad Wasif for doing such an amazing job.
The event was well-organized and some of the really talented speakers, of international level, made it a success by their participation.
''CMH is a beautiful medical college and their event was very well-organized, considering the fact that this was the first time they ever hosted parliamentary debates! Although the chicken served in their cafe is made up of plastic, they had a fine ambiance and an awesome tuck shop :D. All in all, it was a great experience and a lot of fun'' says Azib Shahid.
Of course credit for winning the trophy (CMH calls that a trophy :P) goes to whole team SIMS. This victory is just another feather in debating society's cap.
SDLS president gives his views on event by saying,''Being chaperone of SIMS Team at CMH Parliamentary Style Debating Chamionship 2013, breaking into Grand Finale of esteemed Parliamentary Debating Circuit of Pakistan by beating LGS in semi finals & on the very next day , for the first time in the history of SIMS , winning the PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES TEAM TROPHY against international speakers of University Of Lahore are one of the most amazing feelings that i have ,being the President of SIMS Debating & Literary Society (SDLS).
These kids are awesome and I am greatly thankful to Almighty Allah that HE blessed me , SIMS & SDLS with them''.

LIFE, a word consisting of four letters, is probably one of the most complicated things to understand. For some it is beautiful, for other it is not a besd of roses at all. However, what I think is, it may be bitter at times, but with your strength and consistency, you can add colors in it.
Let's talk about a woman whose hope of life lies in her four daughters
